Well it's been a long past month ...

Nannie (next door) had a stroke June 5th and passed away that Friday. She was buried next to Bampaw on June 12th. We will all miss her dearly, and of course nothing of her will ever be forgotten. We miss you and love you, Nannie! You will forever be in our hearts!

The Monday after we returned home from Nannie's funeral, Asia collapsed, scaring us half to death! She just got up from a dead sleep and ran outside to play with her 'best friend', Josie (another Boxer, she's in a picture below)! First thing we did was take her inside and check on her gums, which we found to be ghost white. I got her in the car and took her to the nearest Banfield (the Vet we normally take her to, but we go to the one in Frisco). She stayed the day there and they took XRays and did an EKG. I got a call around 2pm asking me to come meet with the Vet. I went up there and he confirmed fears that didn't even cross our minds - he suspected she had Dilated Cardiomyopathy. The XRays showed an enlarged heart, and the EKG showed an arrythmia (abnormal heart rate). I came home and researched it and the prognosis was extremely grim - mainly the life sentence was anywhere from 3 months to 2 years after being diagnosed ... Asia is only 1 year and 9 months! Soo, after many phone calls to not-so-helpful people, two weeks, and hundreds of dollars, we finally set up an appointment with a guy who could do a color dopplar EKG - that would give us her diagnosis by telling us how her blood is flowing through her heart. I think my heart was beating faster than hers on that table in Las Colinas (the town where we went), but the Vet said all looked good. We still don't know why her heart looked enlarged, or why her heart rate was not normal. Mark and I are sticking with the theory that she was exhausted and in shock, maybe? I just hope we don't run in to any more problems down the road.

So, ever since then, we have taken precautions not to get her too too excited, but of course how are you going to keep a Boxer (especially Asia) really calm. If there was a 'Boxer dictionary', I don't think that word should be allowed! HAHA!

My Mom and Dad are still on their trip. They were in Pennsylvania (in a town close to Philadelphia) on July 4th and said it was CRAZY (the Live 8 concert was there ALL day), so they tried to stay away from the city! My Dad loves history and war things, so now they are in Gettysburg. They are having 'war re-enactments' this month or something like that ... glad I'm not there, but even happier that my parents are enjoying themselves!

We just signed the lease on our new apartment! We are SO excited ... it is MUCh larger than the one we are in now. We have a huge sectional sofa, but it seems like this apartment was made for it! It's awesome! Our apartments are called Kensington Park and they are in Corinth, over by the Rave Movie Theatre kind of ... right across the street from Starbucks (scary, they will end up knowing me by my first name, HAHA)! Check out their website - www.thekensingtonpark.com - if you want to see what our apartment floorplan is, go to Floorplans, then go to 'The Vermillion, A3'! The living room is not 12 X 12 like it says, it is 16 X14! I don't know why they put the wrong one on there, I think they may have just renovated some of the one bedrooms and forgot to change it? We have the newer version, anyway, and have seen the inside. It's a very open floorplan, which is what I've been hoping for!

Well, maybe one day I'll get one of my four disposable cameras developed! Until then, I'll be sticking with the digital camera (that eats up batteries like no other)!

Come back for more pictures soon (we are supposed to go to the lake sometime this week with Mark's Mom and their dog - that I absolutely love - Max)! =)
