We're still alive! Yay!!!
If it were up to me, we wouldn't have gone because I am so scared of elevators! BUT, we made it up there AND we had a GREAT time! Probably the best time him and I have had together in quite a while! =)
Getting there was stressful ... Mark gets stressed out when he doesn't know where we're going, and in that situation I am very laid back (I think I get that from my Mom). But I was already nervous so he was stressing me out even more! We got there and all was great. The security guards were funny -- they were going to send us in the elevator by ourselves but I asked if we could please wait for another person. So then a worker got in the elevator (lucky for me)! Once you're in them, the lights dim and I freaked out but he told me that was what was supposed to happen!
We got up there and it was awesome! I thought the entire ball was spinning. On the inside, everything is in a circle. In the middle is the desk and waiting area, and then you step on to the carpet (which is where all the seats are), and everything on the carpet is what is rotating. It rotates a full circle every 55 minutes - which is close to perfect timing for a meal!
Mark has the swordfish and I had the 'breast of chicken'! It was all presented very fancy-like. Everyone we met coming up or going down was just as nice as they could possibly be, the service was great, and our waitor Roberto was awesome! All in all, it's an extremely fun (and romantic) place to go!
Next time, we want to get a bunch of people together and go to 'The Dome', which is the coctail lounge upstairs. It is the same set up as the restaurant 'Antares', but different music and brighter colors and lighting!
So yes I want to go there again! Everything about it was fancy but not 'out of the ordinary, I am not comfortable here' fancy! I told Mark on the way out "Okay so yes, I made a big deal about it, it wasn't half as bad getting up there as I thought it was going to be" ... although it did take a minute for my eyes to adjust to everything rotating! Really, you forget you are that high up until you look out ... which I did the whole time so it did me no good! =)
And just for the record, that 68 second elevator ride on the way up really isn't that bad when you have someone putting a necklace you've been wanting for a while around you! And, I looked out on the way down -- I'm glad I did, the view was amazing!!! =)
... And many thanks to Tricia for letting me borrow her camera! Next time I want to go during the day so I can get better pictures! =)
